Venetian Blinds in a Wooden Gazebo: A ProHome Project

A gazebo offers a connection to the garden, while adjustable blinds give its users more control over light and privacy. For this project, the customer chose Polywood Venetian blinds with 50 mm slats, installed within the openings of a wooden gazebo. The material’s moisture resistance was an important consideration.

A finish that complements the setting

The warm-toned finish works with the timber structure and existing furniture. The horizontal slats complement the design while preserving the gazebo’s rustic character.

The photographs show the completed installation from several angles, with the slats in different positions.

Adjustable light and privacy

Tilting the slats changes the amount of light entering from the sides and the view into the gazebo. A more open position maintains views of the garden, while closing the slats provides greater privacy.

Installation conditions matter

This project shows a solution fitted to one particular gazebo. For a similar setting, the choice of system should take account of the material, dimensions, fixings, and exposure to rain and wind. The moisture resistance of the Polywood slats does not automatically mean that the complete system is warranted for exposure to rain and wind.
